A two hour set of Folk, Acoustic, Flat Picking, Traditional, Bluegrass, Contemporary, and everything else related with waking up in a relaxed way to get the Sunday started off. Originally a radio show that was on WKSU, with Kerry Blech in the 70's, which led to the Folk Alley that we hear now.

RAMPAGE RADIO is a 6 hour Heavy Metal radio show founded by Howie Klein, Ian Kallen & Ron Quintana which has aired on KUSF 90.3 FM in San Francisco every weekend since 1982. The early years of Rampage featured the heaviest bands from the UK NWOBHM scene, Europe & the worldwide metal underground along with classic '70s bands and the roots of metal going back to the late '60s. Legendary artists such as Mercyful Fate, Yngwie Malmsteen & Metallica sent demo tapes, receiving their first airplay on this show when no one else was willing to take a chance, and we are proud to have introduced listeners to every new worthy development in metal that has emerged over the last 30 years. 2011 marks the beginning of our 4th decade of weekly broadcasts and we continue to play the latest non-commercial metal to an enthusiastic worldwide audience.

Hello all! My name is Andrew Noerr, and I am a DJ here on KUSF in Exile. I am a freshman at the University of San Francisco, and I have always been interested in radio/TV broadcasting. Because of that, I chose to be a media studies major. Music and sports are my main interests, and music is what I am pursuing on the radio side.
I have a show on KUSF in Exile titled "Swamphell", and my name on the air is DJ Swamplord. The show airs from 1-2 a.m. late Saturday nights/Sunday mornings, and it actually is a very intense heavy metal show! I feel that it works well airing right before the famous Rampage Radio show that airs from 2-8 a.m. My focus is to shed light on the many great foreign bands on the metal scene, which also means that I will not be playing many bands from the United States. The genres that I play are 50% folk metal and 50% a combination of black and death metal. A fun thing I do for this show is that I am willing to play metal from all around the world, as metal is actually a very prevalent genre of music in many areas. One can realize this if they tune in to my show, so support me and give this a chance! Thanks for all the support!

Dj Margaret is joined by artists LINDA GEARY and JORDAN STEIN on their practice and current projects.
LINDA GEARY’s recent solo exhibitions include in 2011, New Paintings at 101 California in San Francisco, Inside Out in 2010 at Rena Bransten Gallery, and 13 Watercolors in 2009 Rose Burlingham in New York City. A catalog with essay by Leigh Markopoulos accompanied Inside Out. The show was also reviewed in the SF Chronicle by Kenneth Baker and Squarecylinder.com by David M. Roth. She was a resident at Art Omi International artists residency in Omi, New York in 2007, and the recipient of the Elizabeth Foundation Grant and the Pollock-Krasner Award. Linda’s work has been exhibited in Bay Area Now 3 at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, Mills College, San Jose Institute of Contemporary Art, Bau Institute Otranto, Italy. It has been reviewed in Art in America, Artforum, SF Chronicle, San Jose Mercury News, Artweek, Sacramento Bee, and Portland Mercury News. She is currently Associate Professor and Assistant Chair of Painting at California College of the Arts in San Francisco and lives in Oakland.
Linda just completed a year-long project titled Studio Visit Project (Nov. 21, 2010 to Nov. 21, 2011), 101 studio visits that included artists, writers, curators and gallerists. “The project began as a way for me to continue conversations that I have at school with students during the year of my sabbatical. I wanted to build on the idea of talking to people more in depth in their studios without my being a in the role of teacher, and without either of us having an end goal. I decided on 101 because I wanted to be in a little over my head socially. I like the idea of having 101 unscripted conversations without a finished product in mind, with people – many whom I didn’t know—and to just let it take form over time. My main focus was to build a project that would feed my work in the studio (paintings) and rather than interrupt it. I visit the person in their studio, workspace, or café. The format is an hour conversation. I bring a stack of 365 colors to each visit. One of my main interests is how color and language slip away from each other. The stack is an active conversational tool. Each person chooses a group of colors from the stack, and I take those chosen colors back to the studio and document them in a photo: name with colors. Then from a color archive of my own colors—which is the source of the color stack—I make a collage of the exact colors chosen, two of the same collages of squares on white paper. I label them on the back with the person’s name, date, and time of the visit. I keep one for my archive, and send the other to the person in the mail.”
JORDAN STEIN is the founder and director of Glass, house, a project-based curatorial initiative that explores notions of transparency and reflectivity in art practice and presentation. Working collaboratively with artists and others in the creation of unique artifacts and experiences, investigations vary in size, shape, form, and function from project to project. Glass, house published two books in 2011: Endless Column, a photographic survey of the relationship between minimalist sculpture and its 2D likeness; and Daren Wilson: After Morandi, a painting catalog featuring 35 reproductions of Giorgio Morandi copies. Ongoing projects include a living archive of former San Francisco artist Joanne Rrruff and a library of 16mm tracking shots with filmmaker Paul Clipson. Glass, house will be releasing its first sonic experiment in 2012, an album by Grouper and Jefre Cantu-Ledesma inspired by the visual work of artist Vija Celmins. Jordan is also an Arts Project Developer at the Exploratorium, and co-founder and co-director, along with David Kasprzak and Lindsey White of WILL BROWN, a non-disciplinary storefront gallery in San Francisco’s Mission district. He graduated with an MFA in New Genres from the San Francisco Art Institute in 2005. He was awarded the Alternative Exposures Award grant from Southern Exposure in 2011.

After doing various radio Specials the past year I was asked by KUSF in Exile in San Francisco to host a weekly program every Friday night at 7PM Pacific time. The first show aired on OCT 28 and featured UK Psychedelic Rock & Acid Folk 1968-1970. The programs focus will be highly eclectic with music played ranging the spectrum of sound and styles. I began Eurock as an FM radio program in California in 1971. Now after 40 years I have come full circle to begin again a new musical adventure. Tune in, Listen & Enjoy every Friday night!
