KUSF 05.30.10 6-8 PM Spotlight Bablicon DJ Mmmiguel

Only around for 5 years and having released just 3 albums, BABLICON managed to touch more musical bases than most musicians cover in their lifetime. The three multi-instrumentalists in the band improvised freely but also offered us complex contemporary compositions touching on avant guarde jazz, indian music, soundtrack scores, and they even rocked out on occasion. They were loosely associated with the Chicago post-rock scene of the nineties but their music simply can't be confined to any one genre. Hosted by Mmmiguel.

KUSF 05.27.10 9-Noon Guest Corissa Bragg DJ Bryan Chandler

Guest Corissa Bragg Playing Live In Studio B with Bryan Chandler
http://corissabragg.com/
http://www.myspace.com/corissabragg

When Corissa was young she made up little melodies. She discovered the
windswept loneliness at her core in the tiniest grains of songs sung to
let go her anger, her sadness, the chime-like breaking of her child's
strong heart. Her songs, now, are different only by measure of experience,
of a life lived living. Her songs are neither negation nor affirmation.
They are the plaintive admission of life as is, kept somehow pure as a
child's whispery cadence. Corissa's songs, and her heart-string voice,
exist to disappear. They come from a place of pain and loneliness not to
stand and accuse, not to castegate nor swear, but to bring us as close as
possible to the eventide gondola of melody. -Bo Butler.
