Jukebox

Whatever happened to those former KUSF New Music jocks you used to listen to and bother on the air for requests and free tickets? Well, we dug 'em up and gave them two hours to express and explain themselves in music...maybe a KUSF history lesson for the hell of it.

KUSF 05.30.10 6-8 PM Spotlight Bablicon DJ Mmmiguel

Only around for 5 years and having released just 3 albums, BABLICON managed to touch more musical bases than most musicians cover in their lifetime. The three multi-instrumentalists in the band improvised freely but also offered us complex contemporary compositions touching on avant guarde jazz, indian music, soundtrack scores, and they even rocked out on occasion. They were loosely associated with the Chicago post-rock scene of the nineties but their music simply can't be confined to any one genre. Hosted by Mmmiguel.
