Why fight to keep KUSF 90.3 FM on the air in San Francisco?
Sure, USF has the right to sell their own property, the issue is removing an irreplaceable public asset from San Francisco. Radio is a limited public commodity. Terrestrial FM licenses rarely come up for sale -- and if we don't make ourselves heard in this effort, San Francisco will lose.
In addition to the music we love, KUSF 90.3 FM hosts news and education shows in a dozen languages. Many of us miss hearing our favorite songs, but what about people dependent on getting their nightly news in Cantonese on Chinese Star Radio each weeknight at 6pm -- or from the Disability & Senior News Report, Sundays at 12:30. These are things the FCC considers.
